How thoughts are generated?

Grass / Bokeh / Photography

Sensations, memory and the body. The thoughts that come from the memory, are the heaviest. Concentrate your mind and beware from your thoughts. Fight against all those bad thoughts, if you find them.

God will ask for our apology for our words, acts and thoughts at the day of Judgment.

Our Experience through the deep valley…

rochers volcaniques

Yea, even if I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid of evils: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, these have comforted me.Psalm22/23:4

Valley experiences are an innevitable part of our life. We all go though them at some stage. No valley resembles another. Some are long, steep, narrow and deep while others are short or very dark creating sever pain in our heart.
Our faith is tested, tried through these experiences. We feel lonely in them, forgotten, desperate, full of anguish and often wonder if we will ever manage to get out of them.

There is one thingh though we should never forget while going through a valley  experience, We are never alone!!!! As God’s children we should have patience and depend only on HIm who cares so much for us. Christ is our efuge, shelter and strength. He never leaves us alone even when we think He is far from us He is always there holding us close.

“If I cry and don’t smile then the devil will be happy - so I’m gonna smile.”

An interesting photo. Is this a miracle?

This happened when an old lady died. In this photo you can see a light like cross. There is not a window thereby. As the blogger of diefxontonagion.blogspot has written, none of the people who were there saw the light.

What’s your opinion? Is this a miracle?

A quote from Elder Paisios

-Elder, thoughts (logismoi*) disturb me.

-Let the dogs bark!

* The greek word logismoi (λογισμοί) literally means “thoughts.” Much of the teaching among Orthodox Fathers concentrates on those thoughts that lead to temptation.

Lord, I’m falling…

Lord, I’m falling, I’m losing ground.
The enemy hunts me day and night.
He haunts me. I feel that his fiery arrows are coming against me.
How weary am I….

Yes I feel it.

The touch of your hand holding mine tighter and tighter.
Your strength is helping my head rise.
Fortify my weak armaments.
Thank you Lord I am gaining ground!!!

What is your opinion about Good Friday Lamentations?

Greek Orthodox Icon of Jesus

Today I wanted to ask you your opinion about Good Friday Lementations. This video is in Greek because I couldn’t find so nice a version in eglish. If you are not Orthodox and you haven’t listened it please do it and describe your feelings. Do you feel something different?

Personally when I listen to it, even it is not Easter I am crying. Every Good Friday you’ll see people in Church crying when they hear it. I believe that Good Wednesday and Good Friday are the most moving days.

So what’s your opinion? Do you feel more peacefull?

About prayer

It was said that a person who has not the Holy Spirit within him cannot pray true prayer. This is perfectly true. We need to make considerable use of toil and suffering in order to be able to pray holy prayer. We cannot suddenly or quickly attain to such a state as to be able to raise our thoughts and hearts to God. Not only with us ordinary people, but even with many who have consecrated their whole life to prayer, it happens that you go to turn your thoughts to God and you find them distracted in different directions and taken up with various matters; you want to have God in your thoughts, and something quite different comes to you, and sometimes it is even something terrible.
