Sretensky Monastery Choir - Bless the Lord, O My Soul

A beautiful Christian Orthodox chant from Romania

All of you that have visit Greece you know what is happening today!

Today is Tsiknopempti (Fat Thursday)!

In Orthodoxy Wednesday and Friday are days of fasting. So Thursday was the apropriate day for food! Tsiknopempti is 11 days before the Clean Monday. It is a day of fun and preparation for Lent before Easter.

It’s a Greek tradition. Everyone eats meat today. People gather all together and grill meat like steaks, souvlaki, lamb etc.

Here I post the Greek Syrtaki, a song that we all listen to today:

OPA!!!!

I dedicate this beautiful song to all of you that you follow my blog and support me. It is called “Aria” by Giovanni Allevi. Thank you for everything. May God bless you and keep you!

This is Psalm 102 (103) chanted in a Mt. Athos, Byzantine style

Weep Not For Me - An Orthodox Christian modern song

O Hevenly King

Touching Orthodox music

My most sinful soul, why don’t you cry?

Cry, my soul, always weep.

Through this consolation will come to you.

You will not have time to cry,

After death.

After death your sins will exposed you.

Shed the sinful clothes in virtue of repentance.

And if you don’t throw your sins,

Then you won’t avoid hell.

Sufferers wear victor’s crowns on their heads.

They sing the song of the archangels:

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
